How do you find a therapist? What are the pros and cons if you get a referral from a friend? What questions is it okay to ask before you start working with them? All of these questions will be answered today. Finding a therapist that you believe understands and tunes into you is a vital part of treatment, so hopefully this episode will help you feel more secure in your choice. We’ll feature articles by Dr. Jessica Gold from Washington University and use some of her very good points to organize the discussion.
The listener email today is from someone who’s divorced but didn’t want to be, and her struggle to create a new life for herself. We’ll talk about some actions and ideas that could be helpful.
