094 SelfWork: Challenging and Changing the Rules and Beliefs That Lead to Depression
What is the relationship between rules and beliefs and how do they affect whether or not you’re depressed? Today I’m going to pull from cognitive-behavioral and family systems therapy to outline a series of steps to challenge and change your thinking for those experiencing depression, anxiety or Perfectly Hidden Depression. You can begin to identify rules and beliefs that no longer work in the present and may even be restricting your sense of choice and freedom — and begin to risk new behaviors that are much more aligned with who you are — today.
The listener email today is from a listener who had a breakthrough about his panic disorder by listening to SelfWork — and I thought I’d share his celebration with you.

My new book entitled Perfectly Hidden Depression has arrived and you can order here! Its message is specifically for those with a struggle with strong perfectionism which acts to mask underlying emotional pain. But the many self-help techniques described can be used by everyone who chooses to begin to address emotions long hidden away that are clouding and sabotaging your current life.
And there’s a new way to send me a message! You can record by clicking below and ask your question or make a comment. You’ll have 90 seconds to do so and that time goes quickly.
