067 SelfWork: Understanding Social Anxiety And The Fear Of Commitment
Social anxiety affects millions of Americans. Today I’m going to talk about how it may be affecting commitment, as well as how it’s affected by social media. When you get a FaceBook invitation or a “save the date” notice, do you automatically say, “It’s too much to think about,” or, “I don’t know who else is going,” or even, “I may not feel like it that day.” Then you may be struggling with anxiety and commitment phobia. I’ll offer some questions whose answers will hopefully lead you to confronting whatever your fears are, and working with them rationally.
The listener email has to do with a listener who’s concerned that a problem she has seems to recur, even after she felt as if she resolved it.

My new book entitled Perfectly Hidden Depression has arrived and you can order here! Its message is specifically for those with a struggle with strong perfectionism which acts to mask underlying emotional pain. But the many self-help techniques described can be used by everyone who chooses to begin to address emotions long hidden away that are clouding and sabotaging your current life.
And there’s a new way to send me a message! You can record by clicking below and ask your question or make a comment. You’ll have 90 seconds to do so and that time goes quickly.
